Dunfermline Heart Support Group

Who are we?

We are a small group of people living with various cardiac and stroke conditions.  We aim to help others with similar health issues through regular exercise and support.

Are you eligible to join us?

You are welcome, if you:

·       live in Dunfermline (or within reasonable travelling distance)

·       have a heart (cardiac) or stroke condition

·       care for someone with a heart condition

All we ask is that you have the approval of your G.P. or Health Professional to take part in exercise.

What do we do?

Each session lasts around one hour.  We start with a 15-minute ‘warm-up’; follow it with a range of cardio vascular exercises and finish with a ‘cooling-down’ session.

Our qualified Trainer takes the class and keeps a watchful eye on everyone’s progress.  We encourage members to make sure that they exercise within their own limitsWe are affiliated to Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland

Where do we meet?

We are currently closed and will re-open as soon as we are able after the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis is over.  We normally meet on Thursday evenings from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm at Baldridgeburn Community Centre, Dunfermline.

We do have expenditure...hall hire, trainer's fee and equipment purchase and maintenance. Our weekly subscription is £3 per person for those who join in the exercise.
